Ladeira da Santa Encruzado Reserve

The Ladeira da Santa Reserve Encruzado is a wine made from the native grape variety of the region, where we find complexity, especially if it spends time in barrel – which was the case for this wine – presenting a wine with great structure, character, and creaminess, with an excellent and long finish.

9 months aging in new French oak barrels

Tasting Notes:

Color: Golden yellow.

Aroma: Notes of ripe orchard fruits, such as pear and apple, combined with nuances of caramel and orange blossom.

Palate: Voluminous and balanced, with well-integrated acidity that brings freshness. Long and persistent finish, with marked minerality and a touch of aromatic herbs.

Food Pairing:

Perfect for more serious dishes, such as fatty fish, seafood, different types of cheese, and cured meats.

Serving temperature: 10 –12 °C
Alcohol content: 13%

Ladeira da Santa was born from a family project of father and son, since 1997, with 10 hectares. We can witness a Dão somewhat different from the usual, but with all its climate and characteristics nonetheless.

The vineyard is located in a valley where anything can happen. Due to changes and without ever straying from its origins regarding this project, we find the tradition of the grape varieties used, whether white or red, and in the bottle, all its evolutions are perceptible, from climate changes and their influence on the vineyard.
